ABOUT WILDER CIRCLES

A few years ago, I discovered that the thread I was weaving in my life was completing itself into a circle. The heart of it: To bring women and children into the outdoors, connecting them to the natural rhythms of life and normalising that connection.

As a woman who grew up in the city, I had to find my own way to nature. My parents did an incredible job introducing me to it, but I grew afraid after comments were made by teachers and other adults in my primary years. Comments about the WILD.

The weight of other people's projections caused real damage.

Relearning and reconnecting with nature as an adult has felt like an unravelling. Consistent moments of resonance as I learn more about myself, and the life that ebbs and flows around us. As nature has always been the teacher, across many ancient cultures in the world - this is abundant.

I knew that if my parents had held the knowledge and skills to take me hiking, they would have. It could have changed everything. Because when I finally went on my first multi-day hike at 21, my life did change.

The confidence it gave me, in being capable of whatever I put my mind to, was incredible.

But the challenge continued. The outdoor community I sought out was full of men, and while many were kind and warm, the stories of what could go wrong stayed with me. Scared me, if I'm honest.

That's when I noticed a pattern. Nature versus man.

Our society lives strongly in this divide. As a teacher working with children outdoors, it's impossible to miss. Squish the bug, feel tough. Climb the mountain, conquer it. Dirt is yuck. These small acts of separation are more damaging than they seem.

They keep human and nature apart, when really, all of it is one.

Everything is connected.

Everything ripples outward into the natural world.

So I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to build community and connect with nature, to reclaim our wild belonging.

Because when we feel connected to something, we learn to care for it, and that care is where everything else begins.

That's how Wilder Circles began.

A little science, a little magic, forever growing and adapting, just as the wild does.

Hi, I'm Eden

Our Mission

Wilder Circles exists because people need nature and community, and because when we feel connected to something, we learn to care for it. We facilitate gatherings, circles, walks and retreats that use nature as storyteller, teaching authentic, reflective practice, bushcraft and outdoor skill to build confidence both outdoors and within.

We hold space for women, including all who identify as women, because so many of us first met nature through fear, not freedom, and reclaiming that connection needs room of its own. We hold space for mixed groups too, so that connection with nature can be shared and built together, across community.

We hold truth, authenticity, love and empathy at our core. Nature is not an escape from life, it is the practice of living it fully. Wilder Circles connects science and magic, forever growing and adapting, just as the wild does.

Our Vision

We envision a world where connection to nature isn't a retreat from life, but woven through it, where communities are held with the same care as the land beneath them. Where everyone knows their own strength, reflected back by the wild, and where the safety some of us needed to find that strength becomes something we no longer need to seek out alone. Where one day, the children walking beside us grow up already knowing what took us so long to learn. Wilder Circles will keep growing, keep adapting, always a little science and a little magic, until that reconnection is simply how we live.

Want to work together?

We're always looking for like-minded souls and partners to grow our community. Let's start a conversation about what we can build together.

We are forever learning, and we all have our own strengths. The natural world only grows through collaboration, it's an ecosystem, not a single tree standing alone.

Do you have a skill or offering that connects to Wilder Circles' mission? Maybe you'd love to run your own event under the Wilder Circles name, or bring your expertise to something we build together. However it looks, we'd love to hear from you.

Send us a message on Instagram @wildercircles or email wildercircles@gmail.com.

Tell us a little about you, and what you're dreaming up.
